Life
Hi There! How are you?
So, you want to know what I have been doing? Well, after graduating from Cumberland, I went to UK to start my MBA. After the first year I went down the block to the law school and started that, working on a joint degree. While in law school I met my future husband! He was planning to go to New York University for his LL.M (Master of Laws) in Taxation, so of course I decided that I needed to go along. We were married in Lexington at St. Peter's Catholic Church in July, 1994, at the end of my second year of law school. Since I had taken summer courses and doubled up on classes through the MBA/JD program, I only needed 1 semester of classes to graduate. UK allowed me to count my first semester of classes at NYU toward my law degree, so after getting all that settled, we were off to NYC.
NY was fine, but busy. We came back to N. KY in May 1995 with our brand new baby boy, who was born 3 weeks earlier. Actually, we induced labor so I could take finals, some of the professors were getting pretty nervou...Expand for more
s! All went well and I was happy to get back to KY.
After that, I stayed home for about a year and a half, then started practicing law on a part-time basis. However, after our 4th child came along, I decided that I needed to change careers to become a full-time domestic engineer/chaueffeur/cookie-baker/laundress a.k.a. MOM.
That's about it - pretty hectic for the first few years, nothing particularly glamorous, but I wouldn't change a thing. Now, since you've been reading this, why don't you send me an e-mail? I'll write back eventually (it's a little busy around here) and bombard you with tales and pics of my kids!
Latest update - September 2006 - we have the joy of welcoming our new baby girl into the family (if you're counting, that's FIVE kids)! She's very good and sleeps well in the car, which is a good thing because it seems like we are always on the road going to/from school/practice/whatever. Such is the happy life of the soccer mom (but I still wouldn't trade for anything)!
Take care, everyone!
