Cheryl's Story
Hi Everyone from the class of 1987,
Most of you think that I went into the military because of the NJROTC backgrounf but I did not. However, I did do two years in Army ROTC in college. The Army offered me a three year scholarship in my sophomore year and I turned it down. I wish that I would have taken the opportunity because I would be getting ready to retire in 2011.(as an officer) Well, okay you can't change the past.
Anyway, my life did not turn out all that bad. I did marry and that union lasted for 7 years. I have no children and it doesn't seem like I will be having any. I feel weird when I hear people say that they have kids in high school and that th...Expand for more
ey are grand parents. I am a college graduate. I have my Bachelor and Master's degree. These are two goals that I'm definitely proud of because back then, who knew? (coming from an at risk community as the media calls, downtown Newport News.)
Anyway, I live in Charlotte, North Carolina and I am doing pretty good. My family is divided up between N.N. VA, Charlotte, Atlanta and Kuwait. My brother Jeff Dawson as many of you remember lives in Atlanta and is doing good. My mother is still living and she lives there as well. She's doing pretty good.
