Cheryl's Story
Originally from California (San Diego, Bakersfield, Pixley, Portersville), I moved to Kellyville, Oklahoma (BFE) and attended KV schools from 1973 until I graduated high school in 1978. I used to make people smile with my California "accent". Been here so long I have the Okie accent now.
I had 2 older siblings, Donald Pipkin and Susan Pipkin. You knew me as Cheryl Pipkin, until I married, then became Cheryl Foley. Pipkin was my stepfathers last name and we had to use that name, but it was never legally ours. Our birth certificates bore the last name of Drennan. So really, we were Don, Susie and Cheryl Drennan. =) That's why the various names. I do have 2 younger brothers that attended Kellyville elementary for a few years and their last name really is Pipkin (Eric and J.D. Pipkin to be exact).
My very first crush was Ron Johnson in the 8th grade...don't worry, he knows that. =) My first "date" was at the 8th grade graduation party with Vane Bell. We were one of the first classes in years who won approval for a dance at the VFW in downtown KV. =) I was a cheerleader in the 8th grade and a basketball cheerleader in my junior year. Loved school. I think I was a normal teenager, because I had crushes on a few older classmates and a few classmates my own age. Not a stalker, though. Just innocent crushes.=) When I was almost 16, I started double dating with my sister. She was going out with (and later married) Charles Adams and I was going out with (and later married) Larry Foley. I had several friends and pretty much liked just about everybody. I'm still a people person and like to believe there is good in just about everybody. Have a hard time comprehending evil, but eventually it soaks in. =)
I worked at Big John's diner when I was 14 and 15, then it became Denham's Cafe when I was 16 and I worked there a short while, but there were so many Denham relatives they really didn't need the help. =) So I moved on to working as a car hop at the Soni...Expand for more
c. I still tip the car hops to this day. =) I married in my senior year at school (December 1977), so there really wasn't much of a dating life.
Life sometimes throws us a curve and my first and most impressive curve was the loss of Don and Susie in 1979...and Susie's beautiful daughter, Krisandra Adams (Kris was 2 years old). That sure made me feel lonely even in a crowded room and my little brothers were saddened as such a very young age, it's hard to put into words. =( Life's other curves might have made truly broken my heart, but none have topped that...thank God...maybe once you've been that sad you can't get that piece of your heart back? =) I'm still a pretty optimistic person and absolutely see the good in life. Charles Adams was Kris's daddy, Don's best friend and Susie's love. He moved on (though you'll have to ask him how he was able to, because I cannot speak for his broken heart). I do know that he has a really likeable and beautiful wife and two awesome sons as we've kept in touch all these many years and he has worn the duty well of being my big brother. =)
I married twice. First to Larry Foley of Kellyville and unfortunately we divorced 12 years later. Then to Peter Hart of Tulsa (hence my name now being Drennan-Hart) and that union didn't quite make it either. And no there wasn't anything scandelous going on. Some stories just end differently.
I've been on my own again for 10 years now. Have 4 great kids. The first two (from the first marriage) are adults and out of the house, while the second two (from the second marriage) are still fairly young and still get to live with me, or should I say I get to live with them. =)
I work at Solaray Corporation in Sapulpa and have been there for many years.
I'd lke to put something exciting about my life on this little bio, but it would be lies. I live a simple life and so far have been blessed with good health.
Read my Q & A if you need to know more. =)
