Cheryl's Story
As most know I found the love of my life my senior year of high school. We went to separate colleges in PA and FL. We got married in August, 1979 after we both graduated and moved to FL. Jeff and I started in the Jacksonville area, moved south to Port St. Lucie, then to Lauderhill, FL and from there started moving north to Tamarac, and Coral Springs...we then made a large northern move to the Harrisburg,PA area. Once Jeff's 6 year job commitment was done....we moved back to sunny south FL. NO MORE SNOW, thank you. We lived in Loxahatchee, FL on a farm. We have 2 children. Alex, 26 who majored in college, I mean psychology. He graduates and will be moving to TX following his girl. Ashley, 24 and is an equestrian. She had ridden any and every horse or pony since the age of 6. She is making a career of the equine world and is currently back in PA working as a trainer at Equi-Comp Inc where she and Jill Shull work together. We have her ponies/horses with us. Jeff is still an avid sports enthusiast. He loves to analyze, bet, and still make and income from sports. Ashley and I got him into the horses through the DERBY which we love to attend...and onto owning and caring for her rides. Jeff & I enjoy cruising, beach vacations, Vegas. Some day we will travel to every baseball stadium in the country. Guess you can tell we are getting older like the rest of our friend...Expand for more
s, thus realizing we do have a bucket list of sorts. I taught elementary school prior to our children, then worked in Emergency Medicine Billing, and then worked with Ashley's trainer doing all the trip/entry/reservations for the barn. I worked with an equestrian photographer who introduced digital imaging to the equestrian horse show world. I import photos, assist clients with viewing and ordering photos. I also use my elementary teaching degree teaching non computer people how to navigate the website to continue to order photos once they leave the show. I negotiate contracts with horse show management, and make reservations for our trips up and down the east coast, Michigan, Kentucky, & now into Texas. Always dealing with customers/clients but still don't take photos! Loving life. Jeff has been in the accounting field since we graduated from college. In high school he worked part time in the hospital and has been in the Finance of healthcare facilities from hospitals, rehab facilities & nursing homes. His "home" office is in Rhode Island, but works from his HOME office more than he is in RI or at a facility. We enjoy our home in Atlantis,FL, and my Mom lives in the guest house on our property. She is independent but has us right there when needed. We are near many "Spring Training Camps" Enough for now...our grandchildren all have 4 legs and don't talk back...
