Cheryl's Story
I am probably remembered mostly as one of the flutist in the varsity band and orchestra. Since graduation I married for a short time and then enlisted in the US Navy. I attended Hospital Corps School in Great Lakes, ILL, Ocular Tech School in San Diego Naval Hospital. I remarried to a Navy man and move from Philadelphia to the Philippines for 3 years. Once that marriage ended, I came back to Northern California to be close to my family. I have now been married for the 3rd time for 25 yrs. We have a wonderful son, age 23. My husband works for the State of California and I have been working at Costco Optical in Chico, CA since 1994. I am a rockhound, make jewelry, and crafts in general. Have been working on the genealogy of my family and have several trees, including one here on FaceBook.
Well there it is in a nutshell....
I don't consider my career a job. I go to Costco, play all day, harrass and abuse everyone equally all in fun, I go home and they actually pay me for it.
My best friend would tell you I'm Special, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as someone who is shy..

e trendy type, especially living in a rural area. I'm more concervative than not in my dress attire.
I share my home with my husband, dog, cat, frogs and fish, which I find extremely serene.
In 10 years, I hope to be retired. I'm going to get there by heck and high water.
Becky was my best friend all through school. She has a loving heart and we just reconnected here and facebook and classmates.com. She's kind, and fun. Her family always treated me as though I belonged. It was a great feeling.
My first job was at Port Mesa Convelesent Hospital in Costa Mesa, where I got paid $1.67 to $1.87. What I remember most about it is how much fun it was to take care of the elderly, visiting with them. Having to go out to the intersection where one of our patient's was directing traffic in a hospital gown, flapping in the breeze. (He was a former police detective). Another patient was found in my car (57 Plymouth Fury), trying to hotwire it. He was sure his wife was "cattin' around on him".
Summer fun at Glenelder Elementary School. We learned to square dance and round dance. Arts and Crafts. My favorite was painting plasterines.
