Cheryl's Story
Life
After graduation I went to CR for awhile but couldnt seem to find a path. With little else to do I joined the Navy, UNCLE SAM'S RINKY DINKY CANOE CLUB, for just our 5 years. Spent most of the time stationed in Hawaii. Found I wasnt too good at following orders, especially dumb ones and got out. Went back to school. Then got job at the Humboldt Bay Harbor, Recreation and Conservation District. After 9 years of being secretary, I went back to school receiving my AS with a certificate in Medical Assistance. It took me 20 years but I did graduate college, class of 1974 and 1994! Has a nice ring to it doesnt it. lol I worked in a geriatrics office, ...Expand for more
elderly, and because the Doctor didnt have a wheelchair accessable bathroom I would carry patients in, which put strain on my neck pushing to veretebra out pushing on my spinal cord in neck, almost became quadraplegic. Still have problems with that but still walking but put me on SSI. I am still living in the Eureka area. I have a 16 year old daughter, (for sale cheap) (kidding) that I am raising on my own. I have two step sons, one in the army and served a year in Iraq 2003-2004. I work at the Arcata First Baptist Church and am blessed to have finally found a place to give me peace. I am open to re-establishing contact with those who want. Blessings!
