I currently live in Goodyear, Arizona with my husband Mick Rizk of 47 years. We lived in Fairbanks, Alaska for 33 years and finally moved in 2000 to Lafayette, La. We lived there for 3 years - too many hurricanes and tropical storms to suit us. What a change for us - left our 2 grown kids - and grandkids in Alaska where they all still reside. We always said as we got closer to retiring we would move out of Alaska and seek warmer weather. Mick finished out his career in aviation in 2003 and I actually retired from the school district in Fairbanks after 26 years when we left in 2000. We had a home in Palm Springs, California for years but decided it was not a permanant home but more of a vacation place.
