Cheryl's Story
My husband and I have been married for 20 years. We have three boys age 18, 13. and 6 years old. We lived in Alaska for the first part of our marriage. My husband was in the US Airforce and I attended college to get my elementary education degree. Our first son was born in Alaska. My husband didn't reenlist and we both continued our education in Oklahoma where we both graduated from Oklahoma State University. Our second son was born in Ponca City, OK in the same hospital as us. We then moved to Iowa where my husband got a job with the USDA and I stayed home with the two boys. New Hampshire with the USDA after being in Iowa for 4 years. Our third son was born in New Hampshire . He was a surprise and I had just gotten back into the work force when I found out we were expecting our third baby. I finished out the school year with the help of my mother who stayed to babysit until summer break. I continued to work the next school year and then we got transferred again to Virginia. My husband works in Washington D.C. We have been living here for the past 4 years. The first three years I have stayed at home with our youngest. This year I started teaching again,since our youngest is now in Kindergarten. I work in the special education department with autistic children.
