Cheryl's Story

After I graduated in '72, I worked for Rand McNally for awhile, then in '73 I started working at Zayre's. I worked there for 16 1/2 yrs. I was laid off in '89. I couldn't find work till April '90, where I got a job at Jewels. I worked there for 4 1/2 yrs. I quit, as they were cutting my hours bad, and I needed more. A friend was working for a husband/wife, whose buisness was in manufacturing ceremic tile. I started working part time-3 days a week there, and two at Jewel. I quit and went full time at the ceremic tile place. It was called; M.E. TILE. The initials were their last names. I worked there from '94-2003. I was laid off, as business was very slow. I guess it was an omen, cause it seemed my 3 cousins, my uncle and myself moved down here in '03. We all sold our houses My oldest cousin moved first. She lost her husband a yr. earlier, and she's got two daughters that live in carmel. Her and her brother live in Noblesville, and unfortunetly my uncle had to be put in a nursing home two yrs. ago. My other cousin and her mom moved out to Vegas, as she's got 3 sisters living out there. I first moved to Carmel, but I just moved in March to Noblesville, in a new apt. home complex for middle income. I love it down here, as there's so much to do. I work for Walmart, and been there since Sept. '03. Well, that's my story and sticking to it! Ha! Kick back in my recliner and have a beer and share my time with my cat Wrangler. I love NASCAR, Football and Hockey. If I won $100 million, I'd gi...Expand for more
ve half of it to my brother, then spend the rest on my nephews, family and of course myself. My best friend would tell you I'm crazy, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as nuts. I wouldn't be caught in a dress. Nope, jeans or sweats or dress for me. I told my family/friends they had better put me in pants, or I'll come back to haunt them!! LOL! I share my home with my cat Wrangler, fish, and Woodstock-parakeet, which I find fullfilling. My oldest friend and best friend is Mary Ellen Gunia. We met through our brothers, as they used to play together. Mary's one brother Kenny used to hang out with my brother Bob. We just hung out and went to school together and got into trouble.(Mischievious). We had a blast at Hammond High. She's a year older than I am. She's still a corker!! I always would go to Makas (family owned gen. merchandise store) after school, as it was on the way home. I loved to get candy, and when I got allowance, I would go there to get my comic books. My favorite was Sad Sack. I still have my comic books to this day. I always wanted to be a comedian when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a crazy idea. As it turns out, they were right, cause everybody tells me I'm hilarious, and nuts. If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have a beer, my lounge chair, and my sanity to be able to deal with the day-to-day. My current age is 57. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be OLD. I was so completely out of it.
