Chris's Story
Life (wow, it has been 18 years since this was updated!)
Married 34 years ago to the former Elizabeth Brunson, whom I met at Arthur Andersen. We have two boys, ages 31 and almost 30. The oldest is a graduate of University of Texas at Austin and still lives there, working as a marketing and social media (whatever that is) specialist. My youngest graduated from the University of Arkansas, Walton College of Business, lives in Springdale, AR, and works for Tyson Foods in their prepared food division as a category manager. I am blessed that both are doing well (and off the payroll).
We have had a succession of dogs through the years, cockers and westies, currently with a large, mixed breed we inherited from one of the boys.
Left F.C. Hammond after 10th grade due to parents' divorce, attended Annandale for one year and graduated from Fairfax. Came to Texas after graduation. Spent the first third of the seventies losing myself and the mid-70's relocating myself. Worked for AA & Co. (CPA in '83) for 4 years, then a succession of broke and going broke real estate developers through the 80's and early 90's. Spent mid-90's as a senior accounting officer with a northern VA company that ultimately was purchased by Goldman Sachs (small world dept.- ran across Vivian Lerner in Ft. Lauderdale doing a good job of managing a high-rise condo we owned there). Spent latter 90's trying to find myself once again. In 2002, I joined Trammell Crow Company as a senior controller in their client accounting center. We sold ourselves to CBRE, Inc, in 2006 and I moved to a finance role in 2007. I am currently the Director of Finance for CBRE's Project Management line of business and enjoying work thoroughly. Good thing, because my 401k says I need to work another 5 or 6 years!
We are very involved with our Church and I enjoy reading, hiking, British shows on PBS and traveling with my wife (two week trip to France in summer of '17!).
