Chris's Story
Hard to believe that I have kids in college now as I reflect back on what seemed to be only a few years ago ¿ fond memories of the people, events and old friends from Ambassador College.
Right after college (circa 1980) I got married ¿ that marriage did not last; we were still kids -- did not know much then!
I moved on and got immersed into my work and school when I left Ambassador Printing Services (producing the PT magazine, Quest and other Everest Book publications). Studies at UCLA and taught a bit there and worked designing fonts (I know my kids say I¿m a looser for that job) this was a great spring board to take on a role at Xerox in product development where I worked for 5 years. During that time I met my wife Glenda (we will be married 25 years in June ¿ we haven¿t killed each other yet!) and we got transferred to San Diego (can you believe that ¿ what a deal!)
We had trouble getting pregnant and adopted two kids (Kaelyn 20 ¿ private adoption Jacob 19 ¿ Romania orphan). I left Xerox and opened my own commercial Printing business ¿ that was a great experience -- sold it during the aerospace downsizing in San Diego and wrote a book on electrophotography (what a geek) and did some consulting for a...Expand for more
couple years.
During the time in San Diego we had two natural kids a daughter Mariah 17 and a son Lucas 14. I was a bit tired of consulting and Xerox offered me a position to move to Rochester NY ¿ since it was very close to Toronto (close to my family) I jumped on it and worked there for five years and then moved to Kodak. Now I am a part owner in a Direct Mail Marketing company in the CTO role ¿ long story short ¿ I produce junk mail for a living.
The family keeps us very busy ¿ we have a lake house with a ski boat, Jet Ski etc.-- so we do a lot of summer sports ¿ I still play ice hockey in a zamboni league and my youngest son is playing on a travel team ¿ ¿Bondo II¿.
We are usually too busy to realize how fast time is flying ¿ I can never forget the great times we had at AC ¿ learning about life, joking around ¿ etc. I still think the most fun I ever had was the summer I taught water skiing at the SEP program in Orr Minnesota ¿ all the instructors and camp counselors were AC college kids ¿ what a time to remember.
Hope this note finds you well and brings a smile to your face as you remember some of the ¿good ¿old days¿ at AC ¿ and yes I am still alive and as responsible as I can be, ha ha!
