Chris's Story

2010 My condition deteriated to the point that I could not work any longer, so with a heavy heart I left the job and friends that I loved so much and moved back to Iowa. The reception I got here in Iowa was fantastic every old friend wanted to help and one dear friend let me share the couch with the cat. I applied for and was granted a VA Pension for non service connected disability and have been attending physical therapy twice a week and my condition has stopped its downward spiral. 2009 was the year that I finally got back on the horse that threw me. I bought a VW Trike and started riding again. Facing and overcoming my fear changed my life almost as much as the crash did. Now I ride the Phoenix as much as i can. 3/21/2010 Life On May 25th 2003 I was riding my motorcycle in Arizona, and was struck by a drunk driver. My left leg was severed above the knee. I was comatose for two weeks and hospitalized for about 4 months. I still have wounds that have yet to heal I have battled staph infections and only made it out of the woods just recently. OK so much Boo Hoo, Now the important stuff. I am still alive and will return to motorcycling as soon as I get my prostetic leg f...Expand for more
inished. I have spent the last year deep in self discovery and aside from the losing the leg thing this has been a great year. I am a no pity zone so don't feel sorry. Just stand back and watch me work. 11 Aug 04 I have just been released from the hospital. I had my stump worked on and my stomach patched up so I am healing again ;_) Dec 28 2004, I have the major parts for a VW trike Engine, chassis and front end. I will begin fabrication after the first of the year. School What I most remember from school was Mr. Lossner from Aviation, and Msgt Thompson from MCJROTC. I still find myself using things today that I learned from these gentlemen. Mr Lossner used to give John Edwards a bad time about his lefthanded cigareets. And playing catch with capacitors hehe! Workplace I spent 7 years in the great green rod and gun club USMC. I left after Desert Storm as a Sergeant. I became a tourbus driver in Hollyweird for 5 years. I finally ended up working as a truck inspector for the CHP. in 2001 I was promoted to Motor Carrier Specialist and had to move back to the LA area and have learned a great truth. Do what you love for a living and you wont have to work a day in your life.

Well I might be able to get the abdominal wound pain taken care of. The abdominal wall might have a pinched nerve or it might be a damaged nerve or it could be a small hernia. What ever it is it hurts almost as much as bad
