Life goes on.....and on....thankfully! Much rather be here than not. My kids are grown and married and now I have three grandsons and two granddaughters. Business is steady. My relationship with my Filipino fiancee is great. We've been together for a year now and I couldn't be happier. It's very common in Asia to see a westerner with a younger partner. My ex is my best friend - it's all good! Life is moving on, my condo is sold and in approximately 7 1/2 weeks I will be back in the Philippines to live. This will be my fourth major life change. Oxford, England; Toronto; Vancouver; Malolos, Philippines. I can't quite believe that I will actually retire that soon, but I'm pretty excited about the concept. I'll be 68 and ready for it, although I will still continue to do some work online. It's never too late! Enjoy your life!! VRCI seems like such a distant memory....I guess it is - it's a lifetime ago....oh that's too depressing to contemplate! Pocket money from mom and dad then and now pensions!!! Thank goodness I still have a business! Pretty tough to live off government pensions. My dad retired at 62 and I really thought that after working from the time he was 13 that he would just get old and die - not likely! He was loved by all wherever he went; had a penpal from Japan for about 30 years and on the day he decided it was time to go, he got up for breakfast first and then settled in for the last sleep. I sat with my best friend and we held Dads hands and talked to him as he lay there on his last journey and we even felt him leave. He was just a couple of months shy of 99. In his last ten years he had two considerably younger women as companions - not at the same time of course....He survived the passing of my brother and my Mom and a broken hip. I hope I can be like him. It seems like so much has happened in my life since school - where did the time go? I've now lived in Oxford, England, Toronto, Etobicoke, Newmarket, Keswick, Vancouver, Abbotsford.
