Chris's Story

Life Wow, where to begin? I left high school and went to TAMU. I wasn't serious enough about class and left after two years. I went back to Houston for a few years and went to night school at UoH. Still didn't really know what direction to head, and I ended up starting to work for a railway service supplier. I ended up doing extensive traveling in North America. My job brought me to every state in the lower 48, all the Canadian Provinces except for the Yukon, North West Territories, and PEI. I spent nearly four months in Mexico and traveled in 75% of the Mexican States. As I worked up the latter, I got transfered to Connecticut and started back to school working on a Mechanical Engineering degree at Fairfield University. I got my ME degree and then finished a dual masters (MBA and MS in IE) at the University of New Haven. I left my position and did consulting for some old competitors. I now work for a bearing manuafacturer. I love to travel abroad for fun. I have been to various western European countries and I've been to the Scandanavian countries visiting an old class mate and his family (Michaell Taylor). I have had an adventureous life thus far and look forward to every day. Since the summer of 2002, I haven't been able to do the traveling I like to do. A young lady tried to change her radio in her car and hit me head on. I was lucky to survive the accident, but my right hip was severly damaged. After two surgical procedures and 4 weeks in traction, I finally got to go home. 18 months later I had two 4+ hour surgical procedures and a stint in a rehabiliation home to get straight again. I am now standing straight up and my golf game has improved dramatically. I still limp and have nerve damage in my right leg, but life goes on. Surviving makes each day that much more enjoyable. I'm off to Brazil for a week in July-on the road again! College Started at Texas A&M,took a class at HCC, then went to night school at UoH. Really wasn't ready for school, so I entered the work force. Some years later after establishing a career, I went back to school and got a BS in Mechanical Engineering at Farifield University. I'm a member of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. In conjunction with that degree, I took a couple of classes at WCSU and NVCC that were transfered in. I finished a dual masters (MBA/MS Industrial Engineering) at the University of New Haven in July 2006 and picked up a quality engineer certificate along the way.
