Chris's Story
Life
After graduating from W.T. Woodson HS in 1976, I attended Jacksonville University in Florida, completing a BS in Marketing in 1980. Upon graduation I was commissioned in the US Navy, where I served in a variety of assignments including deployments aboard USS Portland (LSD-37) and USS William V. Pratt (DDG-44), and tours as an auditor with the Naval Audit Service, and as a Contracting Officer at a NATO Headquarters in Portugal. an job with NATO in Vicenza, Italy. In 1993, I transferred to NATO's Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) in Casteau, Belgium, where I have worked in a number of positions. My current job as Chief, Financial Policy and Programmes Section involves numerous projects, generally focused on negotiation of multinational arrangements, resource support of NATO's operations in the Balkans and Afghanistan, and development of other policy initiatives. My Brazilian wife Lena and I have one son, Donald, born in Portugal in 1987.
