Chris's Story
Life
After school I joined the Army and got into a Special Forces unit. Following that, I then went to the Univ. of Georgia and majored in Exercise and Sport Science. While in school, I worked for 2 years for the Univ. of Georgia Athletic Dept. treating sports injuries. After UGA, I became a Paramedic - and have been ever since.
Currently, I teach classes on venomous snakes and snakebite to medical personnel and actually keep several rattlesnakes, copperheads and cottonmouths. I am also the President of a national venomous herpetology organization and the webmaster of the the largest venomous reptile website on the internet.
In the Summer of 2001, I worked on the television show "The Jeff Corwin Experience"...Expand for more
on Animal Planet. My name only appears in the credits though. It was the "Snake-tacular Special". I have also worked on GPTV on-screen, and behind the scenes of a show on OLN called Killer Instinct, and 2 National Geographic documentaries.
In Jan of 2006, I went to Sri Lanka to film a documentary on snakebite. This was the first time that I have been featured as the host of a show, and it should air sometime in 2007, but I don't know which network yet.
I have been married since 1990. My wife's name is Alice, and we have one child, Joshua who is 13. I currently live about 25 minutes north of Athens, GA. My hobbies, other than the snake thing, are Hiking, Camping, Mt.Biking and Kayaking.
