Chris's Story
After High School I got my tractor trailer license and starting driving for a living. I moved bulk mail for about a year and a half. I went to work at Pike Industries and had a 16 year career there involving the fence company and the construction division. I spent the most time moving heavy equipment and had some nice equipment to work with.Got married in 1989. I had to great kids in 1992 and 1994. My last 2 years at Pikes I ran a big front end loader and had the most fun doing that.I had an agreement with the district manager to work winters and he didn't keep his promise and I got laid of on Christmas eve 1998. I took a winter job hauling bulk gas and oil for Johnson and Dix. They loved me and made me an offer I could not refuse. I drove close to 350,000 miles for them in the next 4 years and had to leave. stress of driving a bomb was going to kill me. And my marriage started to fail. I got into cable by installing services for MetroCast working for a contracting company. After a year and a half I decided to go in house and became an employee of MetroCast.I met the girl of my dreams and got my life back on track. I've been at Metro for 5 years and now I manage the construction department. My department builds and rebuilds the big cable you see on the poles and also puts together new developments. We also build fiber optic networks for towns and businesses. Snowmobiling has always been my passion, but recently I have been racing motocross and having a ball with that. Future plans? Well maybe marraige, buy a camper, live healthier and enjoy life. Mine has changed a lot in the last few years and I am really having fun.
