Chris's Story

Life What a long strange trip it's been.......and what a great one! So much to tell and so little space. First let me say I have been blessed with 2 terific children, a son 20 studying at OSU majoring in Construction Management and a daughter 19 transfering into The Univ. Of Tulsa, and yes I am graying quickly! I have also been blessed with an absolutely incredible wife. Those of you that know her know what I mean. I met Mary 22 years ago in Dallas Texas and galavanted around the hemisphere with her and fell in love with her while we lived in Puerto Vallarta Mexico and than later in the Yucatan Penensila. We moved back to the states and were married and started our family. We have lived all over the country from Texas to Florida to Vermont, and several places in between. On the up side we have owned several small biz's, and on the down side have been stone cold broke.....but somehow it always seemed to work out just the way it was suppose to. Currently we own our own business in the transportation industry here in Tulsa Oklahoma. Things are good with our carrers,....finally! What a chore that was....lol. We have been here the last 10 years. It is very nice to own our own lives and we are very grateful for being able to do that. As of this August, 2008 ,I am happy to say I became a 8 year cancer survivor and I also have survived a heart attack brought on by the chemotheraphy I took while also enduring radiation treatments. All is well! For any of you out there who might be in a similar situation........Faith and Attitude will carry you a long way. Be a battler. Our house is the house where all the other kids come to hang out and we think that is a good thing. I am so glad my kids are'nt like I was at their age...wink wink! It is usually pretty noisy here, kids or parents yelling, dogs barking, birds...Expand for more
squawking, and super active and always busy with long unfinished to do lists. The weeks seem to fly by so quickly, always something that needs to be done, errands to run or things to be fixed (well attempted to be fixed..lol). I love my family time. I love playing pinball or foosball with my son when he is home from school or listening to music or just talking or shoping with my daughter. I know the time is running out on getting to do these things with them so they seem more precious everyday. My down time is mostly spent these days on my Harley. During the summer I ride in charity events almost weekly, MDA, March of Dimes, American Cancer Society and St. Jude events as well as local benefits I am excited as our annual Christmas Toy Run for the kiddies is right around the corner. Man I love that run! I am currently looking for some property in the Texas Hill Country......I want to go home with the Armadilla! When the kids are done with college andout of the house I think we will make that one last move. Well I could go on and on and on....you know I never was at a loss for words...lol. So much life has been lived over the last 30 years. Some of it was easy while some of it has been very tough. But I count my blessings when I get off by myself and I know I am richer for having had all those experiences, both the good ones as well as the bad ones. We have all moved on thru the years but when I think back on the relationships I had with some of you......man I sure do laugh and smile a lot. It was a good time. Thanks for being a part of it! I would love to here from any of you so keep those cards and letters coming in...lol. Till we meet again........ Peace....and May God Bless You All, Chris
