I've gave up trying to figure what I want to be when I grow up, instead I focus on avoiding growing complacent. I still guide whitewater trips for much of the warm weather season, am a telemarking ski patroller in the winter, and operate my own environmental consulting firm between adventures. I remember being scared as a suburban kid, wondering how I could fit into the shoes of any role models around me! I left to go to school in the mountains as I turned 18, and never looked back. I have mostly lived in the mountains ever since, compromising minimally for urban conveniences, emphasizing backcountry living, wilderness adventure, and appreciation of nature and ecological integrity as much as I can.
