May's Story
The last 30 years of my life defy condensation into a cohesive few paragraphs. The only constants in my life have been my eclectic and somewhat eccentric nature.
Some highlights; I owned two restaurants, the first, "Lebanon Restaurant" on Main St, in Tarrytown with my first husband. The second, "Habebe Cafe" on Main St, in Nyack with my second husband. While simultanteously working at Nyack Hospital (for the bene's) I also studied Middle Eastern Dance, performed in Rockland/Westchester/NYC, taught at the New Age Center in Nyack, and was President of NEBDA (Northeast Belly Dancer's Association)1988-89. I also worked for various entertainment companies in Rockland, Westchester, & NYC.

e voice,sing Happy Birthday, pour a slipper-full of bubbly for the guest of honor. After a few pictures were taken the HB made her exit. Approximately 15 minutes, start to finish. It was both fun and profitable. It balanced out my "real" job where illness & death were part of the job.
After moving to the Sunshine State, I focused on raising my children. Fortunate enough to be able to work from home I telecommuted to work. Great for my kids. I never had to make the choice between whether to care for a sick child or "go" to work. It was, however; very isolating.
I went back to school in 2001 and have been working as a med/surg nurse for Halifax Medical Center since 2006. I will finally have a BSN in May 2010. Which is why I unfortunately, will not be able to attend the reunion. I'll have classes that week.
Reflecting back on my life so far it has been wild, strange, and wonderful. I can't wait to see how the second act plays out.
