Christina's Story

After high school, I went to work for the Times-Journal in OKC as a proofreader of their phonebooks, which they published. I took a job as a proofreader at the Arizona Sun, then at the Scottsdale Progress. I married a man (from Iowa) living in Phoenix, Arizona. He was in the Navy, served in Viet Nam. We had two daughters: Jennifer & Sandra. After 6 years, we divorced. I took a job as executive secretary for Louis Stradling, president of Stradling's Cabinets, a city councilman & bishop of his church ward in Mesa, Arizona. Married Douglas Reneer, 31 yrs. We had a son: Matthew. Douglas had 4 sons when we married. We have 21 grandchildren; 1 married gran...Expand for more
ddaughter, w/ one daughter (great-granddaughter to us). Two unmarried sons. Our youngest son Matthew is getting married June 10th. My husband is a mechanical engineer, moving several times. In my church, I have been the ward music chairman, ward organist, ward choir director, relief society cultural refinement leader, relief society chorister, relief society pianist, primary chorister, primary pianist, primary instructor, visiting teacher (almost 33 years). I didn't hold these jobs all at once, may be 3 or 4 of them at one time. I am very active in my church. I walk everywhere. If the destination is within 5 miles & I have the time available to walk it, I do.
