Christine's Story
Since leaving West Catholic, I have worked and lived in the following countries:
Luanda, Angola (Sept/Oct 1992)
Maputo, Mozambique (1993-1994)
Zagreb, Croatia (1995-1996)
back to Angola (1997-1998)
Freetown, Sierra Leone (2000-2003)
Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo (2003-2005)
Pretoria, South Africa (2005)
I had mapped 22 villages in Angola (near Suarimo) for their elections which were held in October 1992. Within 30 days after the elections...Expand for more
, the rebel leader (Savibi) attacked the UN compound. Some staff were killed, many were evacuated. I was on the last plane out of Luanda heading for Brussels.
Mozambique is another great story!
