Christine's Story
After high school, I went to FTU (now UCF), majored in Medical Technology and graduated in '74. I married David Lucas and we had two beautiful children, Danny and Becky. When Danny was a baby, David got a job in Jacksonville and our small family relocated to the city that was to become my home for another 15 years. I began a job that I would come to love and cherish - working at a small children's hospital laboratory. At times I was the only person in the lab, both drawing the blood for and running the lab tests. Eventually, with 2 school age children, I wanted to be home when they were and decided to go into teaching. I attended Jacksonville University for my Master of Arts in Education and began my second carreer. Eventually, I moved to Warner Robins, Georgia and fell in love with Georgia. I have worked at the Medical Center of Central GA since 1993 as a Medical Technologist. In 1999, I became a supervisor and in 2000, I started a Phlebotomy School in the lab because it was hard to find trained people for the job. I now get to run the school full-time and abolutely love my job! The hospital actually pays me to do what I love best - laboratory work and teaching!!
I now consider myself a Georgia girl and I found my perfect Georgia boy! Rick Presley came into my life in 1997 and we have been very happily married for over 14 years. My chilren and grandchildren love their PaPa Rick Perfect man, Perfect job, Children grown and happy, lots of grandchildren and step-grandchildren - my life is very fulfilling!
