Here's a little something to fill all of my old and lost friends in on what has happened since graduating in 1997, I'll briefly sum it up for you ...
I went to college at St. Catherine's in St. Paul, and finally graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in December of 2001. I got married in September of 2003, and had my first baby (boy) in 2004 and my second baby (also a boy) in 2005. I also have two step-children (Boy and a Girl)...our house is very busy!
On Christmas Eve of 2007 I was diagnosed with Stage II Grade III Breast Cancer. I had a bilateral mastectomy on New Year's Eve and rang in 2008 with family and friends in my hospital room. I finished Chemotherapy in July 2008 and then completed radiation in October, just a few days after I turne...Expand for more
d 30. Now, I'll be having surgery on December 29th and then again in March 2009, and then my family and I will finally be able to put this behind us.
Throughout this ordeal I have learned that I am so much stronger than I had ever imagined. I learned that my heroes in life are my two sons, who are now 4 and 3, who were able to go through this and keep smiling and playing whenever they could.
In a few years I hope to begin the Initial Licensure program at the U of M where I will obtain a Master's Degree in elementary education so I can fulfill my dream of being a teacher.
In the meantime I have enjoyed reconnecting with some old friends on Facebook. It's nice to have so much support from everyone, and I am so thankful for all of the prayers!
