I'm so thankful for my Mom. I wish I had known as a teenager what an amazing strong smart wonderful woman she is. I'm so lucky to be able to appreciate the relationship we have. She's my first call every single day, and, besides Dan, the first person I talk to about everything. I can only hope to have that with my daughter some day.
Don't lie to me - I'll never forget it, and probably won't forgive it. Don't wrong me - I have a hard time not wanting to turn it back on you. I'm working on it, but it's not coming easy.
I never knew I could love as intensly as I love my husband. I never knew love could really be selfless until I met him. I never knew someone else could give me breath.
Then my kids came along, and it almost hurts. I now TRULY know what mom's have meant when they said they would lay down their lives for their children.
I admit, I didn't get it - never understood what I thought were feel-good wimpy mom's saying "my life is forever changed from having kids" blah blah blah...
I was wrong then - I DO get it now... and can't believe every day when I wake up and can hug & love my kids. It DID change me. It made me into THAT person. And you know what, I'm proud of that - proud that my pride didn't get in the way of the best gift from God.".
