Christine's Story

Life Hello everyone that made it this far!!! Hats off to you all!!! Just checking in and sharing information with others that might want to chit chat...you know it has been quite a while since 1985! I've been married to Mac for 30 years and have a 19 year old son, Cole. We have a Great Dane/Mastiff named Gus and we all live in Mercer, Pennsylvania- about 1 hour north of Pittsburgh. We built our first house on 10 acres 13 years ago- out in the country and believe it or not it was a super experience! I enjoy the outdoors and try to exercise in some way, shape, or form each day! My 97 year old grandmother says her secret is to just keep moving so that's what I try to do. My immediate family still lives in the Tampa area so I try and visit annually. If you find some time... drop me a line. Hope all is well with everyone! Chris School AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HIGHSCHOOL... When I was a teenager my biggest crush in school was on John S. and Scott W. Both were great guys and so were their families. Ron Laverghetta ( AKA "LAV") was my inspiration in so many ways. I'm not sure if my life would have turned out so promising without him watching over me. I don't think I have enough energy to even think about "would I like to go back through high school again"... so I think the best I can hope for at this point is to stay in contact with some of folks from school! I miss the beach and all of the funny, happy, and crazy things that happened there. PS for those of you who know what I'm talking about don't tell my mom...she still doesn't know the whole story. HA HA College After graduation form Leto I packed up and moved to Tallahassee, Florida where I played softball and obtained a BS degree in Criminal Justice from Florida State. As a freshman, I had a roommate that explained to me the first day we met that her goal in college was to sleep with Chief Osceola. As I returned back to our dorm room one evening, I met "The Chief". My roommate failed out of college the following semester so I guess she had only planned on 1 short term goal !? I earned some of my best grades in English from my creative writing class. Thank God...Expand for more
for Riuniti Red and the beer barn down the street. Workplace While I was attending Florida State as an underclassman...I took notes for handicapped students. When I turned 21 I landed a job with the Leon County Sheriff's Department (Tallahassee FL) and continued to work there until 1991. I moved to Pennsylvania the same year and worked as a counselor for delinquent boys at a residential facility for the next 3 years. Next, I moved into the behavioral/mental health field, and continued to work with children over the next 7 years. In 2000, I opened a 24 bed facility/group home for court appointed delinquent/dependent girls which expanded into 3 group home facilities for both delinquent/dependent boys and girls. There's was never a dull moment in my life that's for sure... Fast forward, I currently work for UPMC police and security services just outside Pittsburgh, PA. I always wanted to be a N.Y. Yankee's baseball player when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was an impossible idea of course... as it turns out, they were absolutely right! HA HA. The only way to relax is to exercise hard and then hit the hot tub for about 30 minutes- oh yeah, and then add a mudslide or 2 ! If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have support, teamwork, and lots of humor to be able to deal with the day-to-day-- we'll just call it "STUFF". My inspiration comes from 3 important men who have passed : My Grandfather for the manner in which he gained respect from others, my friend and former coach, Ron Laverghetta, for his patience and understanding, and my Father for his ability to never give up on his goals and aspirations. I have and always will love the spirit of competition, strength and confidence, and let's not forget striking men in uniforms. Those are just some of the reasons I married my US Marine ! My current age is 53. When I was 12 I thought that people my age ( REALLY OLD ) would be RETIRED by now. Hopefully, just a couple more years for me. I'm hanging in there. My best friend would tell you I'm soft, caring, supportive and tender, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as a hard-ass.
