Christine's Story
Life
After High School I spent four years as a Field Medic in the U.S. Army. 2 years in Germany and 2 at Fort Hood, Texas. While in Germany I was injured and actually had a 75% slip of my spinal column at the lumbar level.
After 3 massive surgeries I have regained full ability to walk again. After the Army I attended college at the University of Florida and received my degree in Advertising. I am also pleased to say that I welcomed my first child, Kevin, into this world on January 19th 2001. That's him in the photo with me.I currently live in southern Wisconsin half way between Madison and Rockford. I have been in the Direct Marketing (Catalog Marketing) industry for several years now - currently for a company in Janesville, WI. If you look me up by full name you can find my "space" where I have photos and updated musings.
College
It would seem that I'm the only "Gator" who doesn't carry a banner announcing it to the world.. I never understood the novelty of it all. I had fun running (and losing) for the student senate twice. I then traded student politics for real politics and became the representative for precinct 42 of the Alachua Count...Expand for more
y Repubican Party. I'm not really active in that area anymore but I remain a conservative :)
Military
It seems like a lifetime ago, even though it's been nearly 10 years since my ETS the military is a completely different place now then it was when I was part of it. I remember being stationed in Schweinfurt, Germany (Conn Barracks - C Co 3rd FSB, 3rd ID) and spending a LOT of time living in Graephenwohr and Hohenphels (yeah that's probably spelled wrong)90 day stretches at the latter of the two. Yes it was in Germany where I "earned" my spinal injury but I still wouldn't trade my military service for anything as I believe it's a big part of who I am today. I met my first husband over there - that's sort of a joke as I am Hysterically Happily Divorced :)
There are a few people that I wonder where they've gone off to. There was my TC/Squad Leader Sgt. Winston Young (aka "Brother Love"), there was William Scroggs (or Guillermo Scroggs), my roommate Esther Garcia (if she is still married then it's Esther Audette - we lost touch after she went to Ft. Drum, NY) and then from Fort Hood there was James Currington .. wonder what happened to everyone.
