Christine's Story

I always wanted to be a nurse when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a excellent idea. As it turns out, they were let down. Instead, I got married, had three children, got a divorce, remarried, went to college and graduated which made everyone happy, especially me. I love going to and watching NASCAR!!! Gotta love racing!!!! GO DALE EARNHARDT JR.!!!!!!!!!!! I'll never tell the wildest thing I did in high school and the only one besides me who knew is now deceased. My goodness, I have a few Heroes. My first is my Daddy. He was a dreamer and he always told me to dream big. He never gave up on me!! He loved me no matter what. My other hero is my big brother Greg! He taught me how to fix a lot of different things. He looked out for me in school and we shared a few good secrets and a lot of good times! I have lived in Fairmont, WV most of my life. I lived 60 miles south of Houston, TX for almost 5 years, 1982 to 1985. I moved back to Fairmont in 1985 and remained there until 1994 when my family and I moved to Barrackville, WV. where I still live. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is hard to say, because I have been blessed with many childhood friends!. NASCAR, WV MOUNTAINEERS FB AND BB. I love to watch Saving Grace, House, Ghost Whisper, Haunted Houses,Weeds, Californication, Mystery Diagnosis, Forensic Files, and some other select shows/movies. My obsession is NASCAR!!!! My biggest suprise was that I would be injured while working and wouldn't be able to work anymore. I really like working. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel everything and add on a screened in porch with a hot tub. My dream home would be built ...Expand for more
in the country with a flat yard and a ton of flower beds. Hammond would be the perfect area. I have learned that I do sound like my mom. No matter what you do, you can raise your kids but you can't live their lives or make their decisions for them. I also remember the school of hard knocks, it's one hell of a teacher and my kids will often learn the hard way! I would love to see my second grade teacher again. Hazel Bunner. We made homemade butter in her class, it was great! She made learning fun. If I won $100 million, I'd give 5 million of it to Cancer Research, then spend the rest on family, friends and me! My current age is 44. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be really old. I was so completely right! My best friend would tell you I'm a normal person, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as crazy. I share my home with my husband, which I find interesting most of the time. If I could do one thing over, I would have waited to get married the first time. My oldest and best friend still today is Dreana Thomas Helmick. We walked to school together with our older siblings whom we had to walk with. We liked doing the same things and we did almost everything together. What about you would surprise everyone at your high school reunion? That I showed up!! My first job was at Staud's Restaurant, where I got paid $4.50 an hour to bus tables. What I remember most about it is a catering at the Fairmont Armory and there were about 500 people to serve and then we had to clean up aftewards. I'll never forget my first trip to band camp at Camp Ceasar. It was hard work in the scorching hot sun, but it was a blast!!!!
