Christine's Story
After graduating from Hillsdale I attended Occidental College, College of San Mateo, and San Francisco State. Caught in the Vietnam tumult in the Bay Area, I spent some time in Canada, then returned in 1977 with my four-year-old son. I finished my BA (English) in '78 at SFSU and worked for Safeway where I met my present husband. When he retired in 1992, we began to travel regularly to Europe.
My time in Europe produced novels based on our travels. PILGRIMAGE (OakTara 2007), set in Italy, explores grief, healing, and belief. The sequel, OFFERINGS (OakTara 2009), set in France, continues the trilogy with themes dealing with trust, faith, healing. e meaning of love. My fifth novel, THE MAGDALENE MYSTERY, is a quest set in Rome and Provence. I am working on a sixth novel, THE FIRE TRAIL, now in the submission process, set in Berkeley about the borders between civilization and the wilderness.
I am fascinated with the interaction of body and soul, the structure of belief, the effect of history on the present. My novels explore some of these ideas.
I serve as Managing Editor of the American Church Union, the publishing house of the Anglican Province of Christ the King, and have written numerous children's materials.
I live with my husband and two cats, Laddie and Lady Jane, in the Bay Area. I've been blessed with nine grandchildren who fill our home at Christmas, Easter, and summertime with their delightful exuberance and penetrating questions.
