Christopher's Story
Life
Greetings:
My name is Christopher R. "Chris" Williams. My news stories are filled with a warmth that constantly reminds the reader that they are about real people - People who laugh, hope and cry.
I am now writing for the Catholic Spirit Newspaper for the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis. I had been a freelance writer for the St. Louis American before getting this job in frigid Minnesota.
Since leaving the Ritenour High School Pepper Box and KRSH-FM Radio, I have been writing news stories for various news organizations for 23 years. I began polishing my writing skills working as an intern for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
At the end of my college education at the University of Missouri-Columbia, I embarked on a nationwide tour to gain practical experience with Capital Cities Communications/ABC Inc. jou...Expand for more
rnalism program based in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
While in the year-long training program to teach minorities reporting and editing skills, I worked at papers in Oregon, Missouri and Illinois.
I landed my first professional, full-time job as a reporter for the Fort Wayne Journal-Gazette in Indiana. I gathered a wealth of news reporting experience as a general assignment reporter covering the Journal-Gazette's Warsaw Bureau which covers Kosciusko, Whitley and Wabash counties.
My strong personal experiences growing up in St. Louis helped me to pursue my journalism career from a compassionate angle.
I love to do stories that help inform and educate people.
The purpose of news reporting is two-fold. One is to inform the reader and the other is to provide a service for those people whose voices cannot be heard otherwise.
