Christy's Story
Life
My heading indicates my name as Christy Johnson but my maiden name was Dame. My picture was taken last year, I hope to update it soon. My kids are grown, 2 girls 2 boys, & I have lots of beautiful grandchildren. I have moved back to Naples where I lived for many years before moving back to the Miami/Homestead area for a couple of years, then to Wisconsin after going through Hurricane Andrew. I graduated from USF in my late 30s & somehow landed in the insurance industry. I have now been working 18 years as a life underwriter. I have moved around with my last out-of-state job in St Louis, I moved back to Fla to be closer to family, especially after I became widowed August 2003. I am presently working for RGA Reinsurance, the company I worked for in St Louis, however, I work from home in my job as a Senior UW. I love it! I have lived in Florida, Wisconsin (Go Packers!), Virginia and Missouri (Go Rams!), my career allowed me to move several times, plus do a lot of traveling for business. Now that I am back in good old Fla, I love water sports - swimming, boating, fishing & the beach. I spend a lot of time with my brother & sister-in-law & my mother & we do a lot together, especially boating/fishing in the Keys & taking trips. I also enjoy ...Expand for more
visiting, spoiling & spending money on my grandchildren. I lost my father recently & that was truly one of the most difficult times I have ever gone through. This getting old is very very hard when you start losing loved ones. Last year I thought I had finally met the man of my dreams but it didn't last very long. We splurged & bought together a 2006 Jaguar, fortunately I got the car with the split, however, I also got the payments...sigh...I probably met the love of my life when I was a teenager but too naive & immature to realize it - such is life. My family and I went on a 2 week trip to Australia & it was wonderful. They are so laid back Down Under, & it was so nice flying domestic (between Cairns & Brisbane) not to have the security concerns as in the US. Two years ago we went to Hawaii. I am hoping next summer to take another trip to Yellowstone & Grand Tetons, and the following year to Alaska. There is so much to see in this country alone, although I would go back to Australia in a heartbeat (but not Cairns, too hot & miserable).
It is nice to read about some of my old classmates & know they are doing well. It will be fun to go to the next reunion in October & see how everyone is doing, hopefully I will see someone who remembers me.
