Life The thought of locating my sister Leah (last known to live in Manhatten), getting in touch with my old friend Patty Freking, & viewing profiles of classmates I found interesting is enough to get me to sign up. MY LIFE TODAY (January '07) is beyond what I ever expected, with a hope for the future that surpasses understanding, & a son in whom I delight every day. My Testimony: Frankly, I made abominable choices between the ages of 15 and 25, & am finally clearing the other side of the deep valley of consequences & heartbreak. Every day I choose to look forward, leaving those things that are behind, & reaching forward into those things which lie ahead, to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. God? OH don't quit reading now - the rest may surprise you. In 1995, a friend changed my life forever. She told me the truth - about God, about Jesus, about myself. As she prayed for me, I unexpectedly came face to face with myself, my heart, my nature - & I was undone. I could see! My life was headed towards certain destruction - decadence & sin was killing me but I was blind to it. Against everything I thought I knew, I found myself grieving over my life, my choices, the people I'd hurt along the way... I asked God to forgive me for everything, & to make me a new person. I came face to face with the cross of Jesus Christ & the certainty of His intent. My life changed completely. Immediate deliverance from emotional problems including depression & suicidal thoughts. A real peace inside like I had never known before (and that kept me through the difficult days ahead). I was stunned - I mean, I grew up "in the church". When you knew me, my parents were active members of Parkers Lake Baptist Church. My sister & I went to Sunday School, Youth Group, Wednesday Night Bible Study, Church Camp, etc. etc. ad nauseaum!! As a young adult, I was done with it - I hated Christianity, I thought God was either a fraud...Expand for more
