Chryl's Story
June 2014 - I don't remember when I last updated this profile but my life has certainly taken a turn. I am no longer paid for my work. My time is spent in a totally different way.
I am now a Gun Violence Prevention Activist. I have appeared on MSNBC along with news and radio shows throughout the state of Florida. I am the Florida Chapter Leader for Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and the Jacksonville Gun Violence Prevention Lead for Organizing for Action.
Many of you may have heard the story of Jordan Davis, a 17 yr old who was killed for playing his music too loud. Jordan's parents are our friends. My husband was in their wedding. he word until Sunday. It shattered my heart. Here was a mother who suffered through an incredibly difficult pregnancy only to senselessly lose her only child at 17. I had to do something, this child's life was important and his death had to mean something and so I began.
I am not against guns. They are a tool that has its place. We have just forgotten where it belongs. We have forgotten the value of each life. So I am out here to educate and advocate...to change the conversation about guns and remind everyone of just how precious a life is. You see I am Mom and I am Nana to 5 precious new lives and I will give all that I have and all that I am to ensure that their world is safe for them and all of us.
