Chrys's Story
After graduating from Del City in 1983, I went to the University of Washington and got my degree in technical theater as a lighting designer and electrician. I spent two summers during college working at the Colorado Shakespeare Festival before graduating in 1988. I took a few years off from theater and worked in retail, until I heard the siren call of the stage calling me back. I became a union stagehand of I.A.T.S.E. local 15 and worked several predominate theaters until I injured both of my arms and had to quit the work in 1995.
In 1997 I was in a train wreck just outside of Cheyenne, WY and that's how I met my husband, Michael. I was in the sleeper car and he was in coach, but we wound up sitting next to each other on the flight Amtrak provided us to get us home. He lived in Eugene, OR, while I lived in Seattle, WA. We kept in touch via e-mail and IM'ing and over time, realized that it was more than a friendship. He moved up to Seattle in 1998, and we've been together ever since.

ian and find a cure for FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Our youngest daughter has a lot of musical talent, but she hasn't decided what she wants to be, so for now she's our ninja - she loves to climb walls. And our youngest son is preoccupied with cars, so I suspect some kind of mechanic or engineer is brewing there.
I have grown up to become a 3D digital artist. I make digital assets and sell them through an online brokerage company called DAZ3D. I specialize in historically accurate weaponry and realistic body poses. My work is seen all over the world, and I have had several of my artworks published in magazines and books. More importantly, I'm happy doing what I do.
In my spare time, I help raise our four chickens and take care of our kids and cats. Well, one cat now. We lost two in the span of four months. Very sad. I dabble at writing and like to do arts and crafts. I also do a little gardening, but nothing to write home about. I also volunteer on several boards of some local non-profit organizations, as well as volunteer on the marine mammal stranding team for MaST (Marine and Science Technology Center) just down the road from where we live.
