Chuck's Story
Life
Hi, where did everyone go? After HS I joined the Navy and went to Guam and Viet Nam as a Navy Diver. I came back and got married, had two kids with Lorraine Day. Got divorced 9 years later. I traveled a lot as a Pipe Fitter all over the country. I came back to Missoula, settled down on a little farm east of town. Been here every since. I was a service tech for Local 459, I'm retired now after 40 years. I remarried and a few years ago my wife Mary and I and another couple started a grassroots group to get the Milltown Dam superfund site cleaned up. It's called Friends of 2 Rivers. and educational. I've met and worked with two of Montana's Governors so far and learned a bunch about envirnmental activism! Currently I'm serving on the Missoula County Restoration Working Group and we're planning how the cleanup site will be redeveloped once the cleanup is done. The Superfund Site is now going to be a State Park! The kids are all grown and gone and now it's just the two of us and three dogs and eight horses!
This January I was asked to run for the state legislature! I am now running for Montana House District 91! Knocking on doors and "grippin' and grinnin'. Whole new chapter in life, Wish me luck!
So much for that LOL! Lost by 45 votes...closest race in the state!
