Cindy's Story
Life
After graduation, I attended La Roche College majoring in psychology and biology. Graduated in 1989 and stayed in the area (but not South Park!) until 1994. While at La Roche, I met my life partner; we married in 1991. We moved to Connecticut where we stayed until 2005. I worked most of that time as a clinical/program director of a teen shelter. I retired for a brief time but found retirement at 35 to be somewhat unrewarding so I went back to work as a trainer/consultant. I am currently employed full time but am considering early retirement again.
I have no children, but make a great aunt. We have two Siberian Huskies and I spend a lot of time sustenance gardening and restoring our 1790 Georgian Colonial home. I continue to be an outdoors enthusiast and spend time kayaking, hiking and walking with our dogs, and enjoying the outdo...Expand for more
ors. We have two antique automobiles we enjoy maintaining and driving.
I don't really know why I am on Classmates.com except to satisfy my curiosity. I recently attended my husband's high school reunion which heightened my curiosity about what people are doing.
College
College was a liberating experience for me. I found going away to school, even though it was only in the North Hills, gave me the opportunity to break out of my shell. I was finally able to engage in discussions about my political and life views.
My roommates were great though we did grow apart over the four years. I learned a lot from them and hope I had an impact on them.
I found college to be a much more stimulating experience academically than high school (as most people do). I have continued to take classes on various subjects and am a trainer/teacher myself.
