Cindy's Story
Life
My life after school took me to Huntington Beach, Ca. for a year. I loved that, not a care in the world days! Then I moved back here when the job market got bad along with the price of gas. I married and had 3 children-Justin in 76, Michael in 80,and Katie in 91. I spaced them out a lot. After 23 years of marriage we were divorced and 3 days later I had an accident that changed my life forever. I broke my back, a L1 fracture, incomplete. That was 4 years ago and I am still in a wheel chair. I can walk some with a walker and continue to go to therapy 3 times a week.I went to computer school because I lost my job as a school bus driver when I had the accident. I never thought I would enjoy the computer because I love to be outside working in the yard. But I am enjoying it more all the time

had a son I stayed home for 9 years babysitting occasionally. When my second son was 4 and going into pre-k I decided to drive a school bus. I loved the hours and was off work when the boys were out of school. I had my daughter 10 years later and went back to driving my bus. This is a very rural area and I kept the bus at my house which was very convient.I drove a lot of children from pre-k all the way thru 8th grade. On October 4th 1998 I had an accident that changed my life forever. In my own vehicle I swerved for a dog that ran out in front of me and ended up in a very bad accident. I broke my back L1 fracture, incomplete. I spent a month in the hospital and another month in a rehabilitation hospital. This ended my working. I have taken computer classes and plan on working from home soon.I miss my old job and my kids. My daughter was with me in the accident and I am thrilled it happened to me instead of her.
