Cindy's Story
Life
I am a very busy person being a Ph.D student. I spend a lot of time volunteering for non-profit organizations. In my spare time, I do a lot of research for my dissertation, and I love to learn technology. I am always busy studying, creating art projects and getting lesson plans prepared.
School
I love learning and I love teaching. Education is very important to me and I have learned a lot being a student and a mentor. Teaching students has really taught me about patience.
College
I am going to start teaching an art technology class at a University in the Spring semester. I am finally teaching COLLEGE level which is my dream. This is the first time I will teach college students and I am very excited. I received my Masters Degree in Art Education last year. Prior to that, I have my Bachelors Degree in Animation and Media Arts and my Associates Degree in Graphic Design. I am also getting my Ph.D so I am...Expand for more
quite busy!
Workplace
Working for a non-profit was one of the best jobs I ever had. It was a fulfilling environment and the people that worked there were artists too. I had ups and downs with stress but I learned valuable lessons to deal with classroom management. Prior to this , I was a creative manager in a corporation and worked for MTV one semester.
Military
I joined the military in 1993. I received scholarships to colleges but I needed more money to pay for art college. I stayed in and did my time and received my GI BILL. That was gold!
Thanks to the military, I have become a more confident and disciplined person. When I was in high school, I was picked on a lot and called rude names by people who hated me for no reason. I always walked with my head down. When I got out of the US Army, I always walk with my head up. I became a more disciplined person that gave me life skills to succeed in college.
