Cindy's Story

Hello everyone! I am not a facebook fan, but I always respond to emails. I just got back from San Antonio visiting my daughters and yes it's true I am finally a very proud grandmother to an adorable little one year old girl named Madelyn!!! My "baby" son just graduated from C.S.U this year and he is happily employed. We celebrated by taking the whole family to Disney World and on a cruise. After 12 straight years of paying for college for three children we just had to celebrate! I retired from teaching Special Education in May of 2004. My husband and I have done some traveling. We hope to do more. He is not retired though which left me alone at home more than I like. Our new little addition to our family is a little Morkie named Winston. My little dog is one of the many joys of my life. I will be teaching once again at a Christian preschool in Aurora this year. I need to hear children giggle and play. There will be minimal paperwork, no bureaucracy, and a chance to make a difference in a child's life. I simply could not resist. It will still leave me time for friends, bible study, and my new obsession Pinterest. I am trying my hand at writing children...Expand for more
's poetry. I hope to take some writing classes this year. Since the birth of my granddaughter I have turned into "Mother Goose". Who knew? I also adore fine wine and cooking meals to go with the wine. Kevin has even gotten into the act which really makes cooking fun! One of my dreams is to travel to France or Italy and take a cooking course at a vineyard. I want to thank all of you for being a part of my high school experience. I look back and it seemed so innocent and fun. We filled the gymnasium with cheering crowds for basketball and loved freezing to death at the football games. There was so much laughter and love. The teachers inspired us, worked us, stretched us, and helped us to believe anything is possible. If a skinny, knobby kneed girl with no singing ability could stand in front of her friends (that could sing like angels) and walk around a ramp over an audience attempting to sing, then yes, anything is possible! Hopefully we have had the chance to inspire others along the way and share the memories of Hinckley High School with friends and family. It was an honor to cheer, play, study, sing, and dance with you! Cindy (Jablonski) Meador
