Cindy's Story

I always wanted to be a rancher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a stupid idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. Actually, they never asked me what I wanted to be. They had LOW expectations. If I could improve my home( a historic house in Tenn. with a pre-Civil War cabin inside it), I'd add on a upstairs bathroom. My dream home would be old bungalow on a farm with acres of pasture. If I won $100 million, I'd give most of it to charity ( youth, handicapped and animal), then spend the rest on a farm, updating everything worn out and retirement adventures( Alaska and Greece. My current age is 60. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be senile or dead. I was so completely wrongo- bongo. My best friend would tell you I'm sensitive, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as hard ass. I share my home with dogs, which I find enriching. In 10 years, I hope to be...Expand for more
alive. I'm going to get there by living more carefully. No more breaking mean horses!. My first job was at Howard Johnson's, where I got paid .87/hr. to wait tables. What I remember most about it is fun with other satff including Harriet Bolyea, Linda Roman Hawley and the Rock and Roll writer, Dave Marsh. Something unusual:I was bit by a rabid skunk when I was 2 yrs. old. joe Slaughte, my uncle , was riding stick horses with me. I thought the skunk was a kitten. Joe tried to save me by beating it with his" horse." I have white grey hair and I am trained as a Clinical Psychologist. My favorite population to work with is persons with developmental disablities. Visit with my pets, take a bath, watch TV> The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Rick Haase, because he always gave me a hard time about his "dream girl friend".. Linda Hawley. We both liked to act funny and we loved horses. Also, into music.
