Cindy's Story

Life After completing high school I attended Tyler Junior College. I met my husband, Lee Evans there at TJC. We married just before final exams of my second year, (I would never recommend that by the way). We’ve been married for 23 years. Lee is a wonderful husband and father to our children. Lee had felt called to be a pastor and God had been working on me as well. I stepped into this marriage knowing that! I followed him through college and helped him by working full time until our first child was born. God has blessed us with 3 children, a son and two daughters. My oldest is a self taught computer “genius”, and I’m very proud of him! My oldest daughter is in college at Howard Payne University, she wants to be missionary and my youngest daughter is in High School and is active with drama and journalism. Since marriage, we’ve just lived in Texas towns, Marshall, Tenaha, Price (or Carlisle), Kosse, Granbury and currently Bangs. The largest town other than Tyler was Granbury, close to the Dallas, Ft. Worth area. After living there we decided the big city life was not for us. We prefer the slower pace, not that we personally have slowed down any! We just prefer knowing your neighbors and community. A place where when you hear a siren blare, you don’t ignore it, because it is prob...Expand for more
ably affect someone you know. Where when there is a fire engine going down the road, you hop in your car and follow. Why? You might be needed to give a helping hand. Currently, we live on 5 acres with a house that is over 100 years old, (lots of character). We raise donkeys and llamas, primarily so we don’t have to mow the pasture! My husband, Lee, is serving as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Bangs, a small central Texas town. I am working part-time as a financial secretary for the Baptist Association. I also work at maintaining 4 websites, I’m church librarian, mentor mom for our MOPs organization, and I teach computer skills. When I was in high school I had no idea where I was headed, I had no direction. I thank God for giving me direction and a purpose in life. There are many things I would have liked to change about my teen years but since I’ve place my life in God’s hands and let Him lead, I can honestly say that my life has been very “rewarding”. I live each day anew and look hopefully to what God has planned for all my future days! School I completed Tyler Junior College. Then I helped put my husband through East Texas Baptist University and finally through Seminary, where he received his Doctoral Degree. I received an honorary PHT. (Putting Husband Through)
