Cindy's Story
School
My biggest crush?? I really didn't have a biggest crush. I did'nt like school. I always felt ackward. I didn't have good grades and I dropped out in the tenth grade which was the worst thing I could have ever done. I was quite rebellious back in the day. I look back now and wow it's so true what they say about retrospect. I could have saved myself a whole lot of time and trouble. One thing I can say about always doing things the hard way when I was young is that along with those mistakes I gained wisdom alot faster than most.
College
I didn't start college until two years ago. I had always wanted to become a nurse but never thought it could happen for me because I never graduated. But the day came when I turned forty years old and I made the conscious decision to change the last half of my life and do what I've always wanted to do. So I talked with my husband about it and he was right behind me with his "go get 'em attitude" so that's what I did. It ended up I was validictorian of my CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) class. Who would of thought?? certainly not me! From there I went to college again and got my CMA (Certified Medical Assistant). I just finished another class and should find out, hopefully today, if I passed my phlebotomy Class. If so, I will now be a licensed phlebotomist, a.k.a VAMPIRE! ...Expand for more
I'm truely loving life as so many doors continue to open for me. My final goal will be to become an echocardiographer (taking ultra-sounds of the heart). I do, by the way, now have my GED but I just got it about 2 months ago.
What did I do all that time before school. I raised two beautiful children who I am very proud of and blessed to be their mom.
Workplace
I currently work for Monte Vista Medical Lab. I enjoy what I do. Even though the work is alot easier than when I was a CNA, I do miss my patients very much! When you take care of people you can't help but make a personal connection.
I was in an accident about six weeks ago and so I am having a little difficulty with getting to work everyday right now because I have migrane headaches about once or twice a week. It was a head on collision (some dummy ran a red light while I was turning left - and NO it was not my fault - everybody always wants to know :-) I slipped my fifth disc against a nerve. Other than that Life is great! I enjoy the people I work with. My saying in life is this: 1. if you don't like where you work...QUIT! 2. You don't have to grow up, You just have to be responsible. 3. Work hard and play harder! 4. Keep it simple stupid! 5. (my favorite) "Momma Knows"
Military
Nope, never went in the military. Probably should have though :-)
