Cindy's Story

Life Blessed with no children, I am married to the love of my life. We have 2 cats now. One parrot died of old age and the other of a broken heart. Truck family. I drive a Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 that's our ranch truck. Alan has a 20th anniversary Gold Wing, a classic '72 Chevy 4wd and his work truck is a 3/4 ton 4x4 also. We have a ranch in Ballinger, Texas where we are cultivating big antlers, fat dove, fast quail, wild hogs, and all the varmints that prey upon them. With a live creek and a deep pond, we get lots of critters. We run a corn feeder on a timer and planted winter wheat which fattened up the dove beyond the point of fly, bump, fly : ) Ducks use our pond during "fly over", we have bull frogs with eyes as far apart as gators! The food chain is complete. Little guys eat bigger guys which feed bigger guys and we can eat 'em all. Our main residence is on the East side of Ft. Worth,in Haltom City, where my husband has lived since 1961. He was 1 year old when his parents bought this big old house that I love as much as he does. Yes, if you do the math you will see that I tend to trade up for newer models. I was 10 years, 3 months, 7 days old when he arrived on earth. Lucky me!!! I like to refer to him as my last husband. Disregard the Haltom High, I can't seem to get rid of it. Alan was a student there, I was just poking around and got tagged as an alumni. I went to Lincoln through the 6th grade, T.J. 7-9, moved to Nebraska for 10-11 and graduated L.D. Bell in 1968 after we moved to Texas when Daddy retired from the Air Force. My parents and Alan's parents are deceased. My Mom's only surviving sister was the wife of "Doc" Caldwell, the best Vet. an animal ever met, Pleasent Hills, P.A. She is still residing there or in the area, I believe. My oldest brother is deceased. My youngest brother is now deceased. The other 3 of us live within 100 miles of each other, Bonnie being farthest away. She lives on a lake and runs a small ranch herself. Always the animal lover, she has quite a menagerie. They don't usually eat theirs. Life has been very good to us, most of the time. The loss of our big brother was the most tragic event to date. We were all very close and he was loved and respected by all who knew him. He is survived by a beautiful daughter and 2 wonderful grand sons. My husband, quite the charmer, raced professional motocross, boxed golden gloves, has hunted and fished all his life and still turns heads when he enters the room. Once again, lucky me. School I left behind my childhood sweetheart when I moved to Nebraska in 1965. We later became engaged ( 1967 ) but he in the Army and I in another new state, we drifted apart. I will always love him and he knows it. Funniest school memory. My prom date that couldn't drive and knocked the guard shack off it's pedestal leaving the AF Base. He wasn't drunk, just a BAD driver. Great moment....saying goodbye to Terry on the bluff overlooking the Missouri on a moon lit night in June, and having him defend my honor when we got back, to the guys who were insinuating. That meant sooooo much to 16 year old me. My biggest crush was Ken, my square dance partner in P.E. 9th-10th and later my fiance and best friend. No one could get me over him...Expand for more
. Until I moved to Texas and was then and still am in awe at the marvels around me. Music, culture, mother nature at her best. If I could do it all over again I wouldn't change much. Every thing that is a memory helped me grow, whether good, bad, or " wish I could forget that one". I might wish for maturity sooner, but then I'd probably married way too young and had 6 kids. All tall and green eyed ; ) College At the ripe old age of 30 I went back to school. Intended to major in Computer Science but ended up meeting and marrying another computer geek. It was a good lesson that engineers, artists, and musicians are a " triple whammy" He was all 3 and more. Never regret it, he came with a daughter, My only child and all the " Mom" I ever wanted. Workplace After 30 years in telecom, I now sell canned Mexican food. I am happier in my work than I have ever been. I hope to retire from my current job in 6 years. Until then, sell more frijoles! Update!!!!!Sold the Goldwing, bought a new tractor, I am now the proud owner of a 2008 Chevy Cobalt. 36/MPG vs. 12/MPG Smart move. 'eh Alan is spoiling me again! I always wanted to be a skinny when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a unique idea. As it turns out, they were right. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Terry McClure, because I owe him a favor.. My rancho, pistol totin' range rovin' running necked. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my patio and add on a huge bathroom. My dream home would be this one. Not to have any. Cook 'em and eat 'em before they get too tough. If I won $100 million, I'd give half of it to Alan, then spend the rest on family, the needy and parties. I droped out. See, I never learned to spellll My current age is 58. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be dead. I was so completely right. I want to live to see retirement at 62 My best friend would tell you I'm reclusive, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as psycho. Style? Cover it up, and colorfully. I share my home with Alan, which I find comforting. Ha ha ha ha ha In 10 years, I hope to be alive. I'm going to get there by taxidermy. Terry Paul Tall Smoochie My first job was at church, where I got paid $1 to babysit. What I remember most about it is I got fired. Kenny, South Park and his convertible. Barnabas! and his vampireism. If I had it all to do over again I would: 1. Have treated Lil better. 2. Gotten Kenny to write. 3. Given my life long friendship to Jimmy. 4. Never married Roger. 5. Broken up with Terry first. Tee hee 6. Talked more to Bob before he died. 7. Killed my ex. 8. Moved to Texas sooner. 9. Expressed my love more openly. 10. Learned to swim at 10. not 20. 11. Met Alan sooner, crossing paths was just too much of a coincidence to not have met and married him 20 years earlier. 12. Spent more time with Daddy, he was the BEST. 13. And last but not least, realized that my gene pool was contaminated and become a vegan at 18. I love my life, my family, my home, my ranch. I have 2 generations of nieces and nephews ranging fron 39 to 2 and they get more beautiful as the appear here on earth. Never seen so many beautiful family reunions. I am blessed.
