Cindy's Story
Life
I am married and live in Columbia, South
Carolina. My husband Kevin
and I met a few years after I moved
to South Carolina in 1987. We have a son,
Matthew that is 13, and a daughter, Amy that is 9.
I started working for BellSouth
( back then it was Southern Bell)
in 1973, 3 months after graduation,
and just retired after 30 years.
Kevin and I decided the timing
was right, and that I needed to
be home with the kids during
their middle/high school years.
We all know what children can
get into at that age!
So far, so good!
UPDATE Jan 2008: Children are now 16 and 13.
Taking a trip to Scotland, England and Wales
in the summer with my daughter...she will be playing soccer while she is there. Our family is
planning to travel to Australia this Christmas 200...Expand for more

We have friends that live there, and are going to visit them.
Workplace
My years at BellSouth were pretty good to me,
and have allowed me to retire! I took about a month off, and then happened upon a part time
job at the University. The shorter hours allow me to still be home when my children get home from school. We'll see how it works out! UPDATE Jan 2008: I have been retired for over 4 years now, and have had 4 part-time jobs so far...keep trying to find the right fit.
UPDATE October 2008: I was able to land a part-time
position at the school district my children go to. I am actually located at my daughter Amy's new high school..Irmo High. My son, Matthew is a senior
at Dutch Fork, and is looking forward to his lasat
year of school...Me TOO!
