Clare's Story
Life is good! Greetings from Palm City, FL.
We've been living here since 1978. Moved here right after marriage to Steve Zelenski. We have 2 daughters. Sarah, 25, graduated from USF (U. of South FL) in May 2005 with a degree in elementary edcuation and is a 3rd grade teacher. Just caught her first sailfish this summer. She's a true Florida country girl. She married Chris Gast--AK Razorback on Saturday, 7/7/7! Friends and family began arriving on our anniversary, 7/1, and the last left 7/14/07. We had a ball--such fun to have everyone together for a happy occasion. We're lucky they live close by--convenient for leaving their lovable Chocolate Lab, Delphus, with us when they go out of town!
Katherine (aka "Kate" to some), 21, is a senior at USF in Tampa(go Bulls)--she continues to be involved in as much there as she was while a student at home.... just about every school/church/community activity that time allows.
I am teaching 4th grade in our local public school. Steve owns his own glazing contracting business (that's glass for anyone who doesn't know). "Glass Plus"
We're both active in all the girls' activities.....
Enjoy the pace of life in S. FL; we live about 20 minutes from the beach and enjoy it often as schedules permit. Survived the Hurricanes of 2004....eye ...Expand for more
of Frances and Jeanne came through right here......and Wilma exited in 2005...we are grateful to have come through the last few seasons unscathed.!
In September 2006 we enjoyed a delightful reunion with Bona baseball players back for the dedication of Handler Park at McGraw Jennings Field---to be known we're sure as "The Fred"! We're planning on heading back to Bona's in June 2010 for my renunion!
I haven't been back to Oradell since 1983 when we returned for a family reunion/christening for Sarah. My parents moved here in 1985, but are both now deceased.
Once in awhile I run into to someone from Bergen County....in fact, one day at school I ran into a substitute teacher who once taught Home Ec. at RD Jr, High...small world.
Would love to hear from any/all of you...haven't made it to any reunions. I do keep in touch with D Massaia who's living in San Mateo,CA and get still get a Christmas each year from Janis Vicelich who lives in Ridgewood!
We're adjusting to "empty nest"--we stroll the beach each Sunday a.m. in search of treasure (beach glass) and getting used to a much (sometimes too) quiet house.
Giants going nowhere this season....we continue to hope...When the snow flies and roads freeze...come visit. METS have spring training up the road and my YANKEES are over in Tampa.
