Mel's Story
Life
I moved to Florida right after graduation. I have always wanted to work in radio. Went to college in Jacksonville, Florida to study radio. During my 40 year radio career, I have worked as an Announcer, Program Director, Account Executive Sales Manager and General Manager. The format of the stations in the Central Florida area where I have worked have varied. They have included Top 40, Rock, Country, Jazz, Oldies, Newstalk and Adult Contemporary.

inesville Florida and work at an NPR radio station WUFT-FM and PBS TV station. These are stations in the College of Journalism and Communications on the University of Florida campus.
I have two sons. Nathan graduated from the University of Florida College of Engineering in Gainesville. Eric graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando with an engineering degree.
I married for the second time in 2004. I have two grand children and five step-grandchildren.
