listening to the North.
After Korea (1977) it was off to Ft. Campbell, KY for a short time back to a Cobra unit. Was assigned as the Commanding General's Pilot til 1980..
Back to Ft. Rucker for the Fixed Wing Instructor's Pilot Course and then to Sinop, Turkey for a short one year assignment. Family stayed in on-post housing at Campbell while I was on this tour.
After Turkey it was back to Campbell for 5 days and then was reassigned to Ft. Lewis, WA to work for the same General( I Corp Commander) I flew at Campbell.
Did that til 86. Went to Liberia for six months with two Cessna Caravans to give the local Army Aviation Unit transition training. One of the best assignments I've ever had.
Took 90 days terminal leave in October of 86 and officially retired in Jan of 87. Went to work for the Weyerhaeuser Company in October of 86 as a corporate pilot...
Retired from Weyerhaeuser in 2009 bought a RV made a few trips back and forth across the US seeing some of our favorite places and friends.
Tired of doing nothing 2011 back in the flying business at Ft Rucker Alabama. Tracing instrument flight in the Bell Jet Ranger and simulator. Here it is Aug 2016 and still at Rucker. Moved out of the RV after a year rented a house in Enterprise Alabama.. Still have the home in Washington, boat in the water at Gig Harbor and family in West Seattle. One more year of my ego trip here and back to Seattle. Ego trip is taking a bit longer than I expected.
