Claudia's Story
Hi All,
Remember me from Booker T? Thats where it started for me. Growing up in a single-parent home; not knowing I would be a statistic or that we were not HAPPY -- later on. I had a wonderful time growing up on 37th Street. We had lots of family and friends. Yes the good ole' days. Skating on 36th Street, having back-yard parties, going to the Rec, the swimming pool, movies (now threater) and Church. It was safe then. Everyone looked out for each other's children. If you did something wrong -- your neighbor would maybe punish you or definitely tell your Mom (parents) before you even got home. I could not wait to start at the Annex -- 'where the boys are'. Remember?
I remember we respected and feared our Elders. So we did our 'thang' quietly, hoping not to be seen or caught. I remember a few classmates I wanted to date or 'go with' during my High School days -- to no avail. Oh yes, one guy from another School, TM; I did like him a lot. We started going together. That was a good time. I don't know what happened -- we just grew apart. I don't know if it was him or I -- but we drifted without bringing closure to whatever it was we had. I had older Sisters and wanted to be around them (Wadene and Olivia). So I started dating ol...Expand for more
der guys, ie., 2 > 3 years older (OLD, hum?). Well, that was High School - didn't make cheering squad either, couldn't do a split (he he he).
Obtained a degree in BUAD; worked with Attorneys in Law, NN Community Development and now Government; at NAVSEA WNY as an Acquisition Financial Manager.
Three wonderful Children AND FINALLY, met my Soul Mate --- I think !!
I always wanted to be a Lawyer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out; all my employments require knowledge of policies, procedures and laws which have to be interpreted and adhered to.
I listen to olde music, ole skool and have a glass of red wine. When no one is around, I dance and dance by myself and just laugh and laugh out loud. I am such a good date. I also play tennis on the WII, attend Professional Football games (Season Ticket Holder), travel a lil bit, and work at staying connected to family and friends -- no matter what. Love my family; siblings, kids, auntie, cousins, nieces, nephews, step-kips, G-kids, G-nieces, and G-nephews -- and love the friendships I have since a child, teen, young woman and now. I pray God keep us ALL safe, saved, and blessed. AMEN. Hi Donna, Shirley, Vernell, and Edna (My Girls from Huntington).
