I graduated from Parkville Sr. High School in 1973. My family and I were transferred to the Baltimore area from the Chicago area in 1971. I moved to Parkville as a Junior. I felt very out of place due to the fact that the midwest was very different than the east coast. My clothes, hair, attitude and even accent were way different. My first day of school was a disaster. I came to school as I would have in the midwest. New clothes, pencils, pens, shoes, and even a cute (what I thought)new hair style including match hair ribbons. NOT! A very different place. No makeup(for the females anyway),wire framed glasses, jeans, halter tops, Dr. Scholls (remember those?), grungy everything. I was so out of place. I felt as if I was on another planet! Soon I joined a few things. I helped with office stuff, chorus,joined the pom pom squad. (yes and sorry but I needed to meet some friends). I wasn't the straight A student but I did okay.
