Clayton's Story
I can't think of any particularly notable thing I've accomplished. When I was much younger, I was sure that I would do something heroic or earth shattering. Actually, I have a rather average life.
I married my High School sweetheart (Connie Hoggarth) in 1965 after she graduated. I had lost my job one week before we were married. Even so, we forged ahead. I went to work at the GM assembly plant in Fremont and we actually started getting ahead a little. 6 months after we were married, I got drafted into the Army. I was not a very happy person when I got that notice. I was trained and then sent to Viet Nam. During my tour, I was seriously wounded and spent a long time recovering.
When I got out of the Army, Connie and I moved to Bellingham, WA. I worked in an ancient plywood mill until I got hire by Atlantic Richfield (ARCO) in 1971. It was my first good job and I work...Expand for more
ed for ARCO for 22 years, living in Alaska twice, Utah, and Texas 3 times. I managed to get a degree in engineering in 1995 and then became a Certified Safety Professional and started consulting. Went to a lot of different places and spent almost 56 years in Venezuela.
Currently, I am mostly retired. I work about 4 days a month. We have a home in Trinity, TX. on Lake Livingston. I fish a lot and do a lot of woodworking in my shop. Connie and I are still married and going strong. We had 2 daughters and 1 son. We now have 7 grandchildren. Our children all live within 60 miles of us so we have anywhere from 1 to 7 grandkids every weekend.
My dream to be an actor was given to me by Mr. Wilson and Mr. Morrison. It never panned out but I remeber the fun and excitement from the 2 plays I was in at Hayward High.
I can't think of anything else so the very best to all of you.
